A giant monster is on the prowl, feeding on pearls - much to the dismay
of Science Patrol's Akiko Fuji (Hiroko Sakurai), because ... she's a
woman, and women love pearls (no, really, that's the explanation that's
given on the show). Science Patrol tries to stop the monster with all
kinds of conventional weapons, but to no avail, whatever they use only
makes the beast stronger. So they shoot a rocket into the monster's behind
that is supposed to shoot it to outer space - which even seems to work.
But since this is a show about giant robot Ultraman, he also shows up,
flies after the flying monster, crashes into it and makes it explode. Sure,
in this episode, there's virtually no robot-vs-monster fight, but the
monster itself, a cross between a crocodile and a very ugly duck, looks
just great, the idea of disposing of the monster by shooting a rocket into
its behind to carry it to outer space is fun at least - so yeah, there's
plenty to like about this one despite the lack of the usual wrestling
scenes.
