Virginal Vanessa (Olivia Pascal) has been brought up in a convent
school, but now she has inherited a fortune and travels to Hong Kong in
order to receive it - only to find out her inheritance consists mostly of
brothels, both for men and women, and a plantation, which its foreman
Adrian (Günter Clemens) claims to be rightfully his, and a fight in court
ensues ... but that's all besides the point, the film actually focusses on
Hong Kong that seems to make everyone involved incredibly horny
(especially the foreigners, there are only very few Chinese to be seen in
the film), and so it seems that everybody shags around - and Jackie (Uschi
Zech), the young daughter of Vanessa's lawyer, introduces Vanessa to all
sorts of local debauchery, has lesbian sex with her and helps her find the
right man to pop her cherry - not entirely successfully though, because
ultimately, Vanessa lands in the hands of Major Cooper (Anton Diffring), a
pervert and sadist, who chains her up, strips her and whips her until she
is saved by of all people Adrian.
In the end, Vanessa and Adrian have become a sort-of couple, and quite
possibly he has deflowered her (it's not shown but hinted at), and even
though Vanessa wins the plantation in court, he promises to stay on as
foreman ...
A very obvious attempt of the German film company Lisa Film to
cash in on the then very popular Emmanuelle-series,
and actually the similarities of Vanessa and especially the first Emmanuelle
are striking: Here as there a young (rather) innocent woman comes to an
exoctic, Far East location tht is presented travelogue style during much
of the movie and that seems to be populated almost entirely by foreigners
who all seem permanently horny, and here like there, the young woman is
dragged deeper and deeper into the local debauchery, and after being a bit
shocked at first, she starts to like it.
... and just like Emmanuelle,
Vanessa is not a good film, not even a good sex film, rather a
tired and insiginificant attempt at then fashionable high gloss
sexploitation. Olivia Pascal is pretty hot in this one though.
