On the run from Beth's (Kristin Rogers) boyfriend (Daniel Ross) she and
her sister Lexi (Ali Lukowski) make a stop at a strip joint in a town in
the middle of nowhere - to soon find out it's run by a psychopath, Ray
(Paul Wiedecker), who soon has his goons force them backstage to make at
least one of them strip ... and it turns out to be Lexi, but she doesn't
like the way men treat strippers at the place so she kicks her heel into a
guy's eye - and in the confusion, she, her sister, Iverson (Gary-Kayi
Fletcher), the only decent guy in the club, and Jessica (Jenna St. John),
a girl who had been tortured in the place's basement, make a hasty escape
... only to run right into the hands of Ray's men, and trying to make
another hasty escape, Lexi ends up dead and Beth in Ray's lair as he wants
to sacrifice her, erroneously thinking she's a virgin - because you know,
in the little town Ray's club is in, everybody lives forever as long as
they drink a potion provided by the place's local demon the Savior (Lyon
Beckwith) - but he demands virgin blood in return. Thing is, Lexi has had
some of the potion, so she comes back to life and together with Iverson
goes to save her sister, killing everyone in her path - thing is though,
how do you actually kill someone who lives forever? Now one
thing's for sure, every vintage grindhouse fan will be charmed by You're
Fuk'n Dead!'s look and feel, and at first it seems the film gets it
100% right, too, mixing an over-the-top plot with badass chicks,
strippers, cool cars, and knife-throwing and gun-blazing aplenty, all
captured in the seedy, primary-coloured elegance of the films of old ...
but there comes a point when the film just tries too hard, starts to seem
a tad forced, outstays its welcome - and at almost 100 minutes goes on too
long for a grindhouse flick, really. This doesn't make the film a
trainwreck mind you, it does actually hit its mark more often than it
misses - it's just a long way from perfection ...
