Dave (Neil Lavery) is your typical under-achiever: Sure, he's got a
degree in ... well, something anyways, but he earns a meagre wage as a
pizza boy, even if he has outgrown the expression "boy" long
ago. Now Dave's boss (Gerard Broderick), he's a little on the greedy side,
but not really one to think things through - so he adds a highly dangerous
food additive to his pizzas, a food additive that makes its consumers
hungry for more pizza, and more, and more, and ... well, at least that's
the theory. In real life, the additive turns its consumers into zombies,
hulking, flesh-eating zombies, and ... well, that's not a good thing. But
weirdly enough, especially after the death of certified zombie hunter Zed
(Paul McMurrough), it makes our hero Dave the pizza boy the one man who
has it in him to save humankind ... According to the film's own
YouTube-page, "This film was made by a group of friends with
no film making experience just for a bit of fun" - and to be quite
honest, at times, this shows. But I want to put the emphasis on "at
times" here, because while some of the special effects are not really
up there, while the script could have used some tweaking, and some of the
acting - well ... but despite all of this, the film is great fun in a
party movie sort of way: There are really good sight-gags here, paired
with amusing moments of understatement, plenty of in-jokes for the genre
fan, the fun these guys had making the
movie is infectuous, and for a film of the made by a group of friends
with no film making experience just for a bit of fun-variety, this one
has a pretty neat look to it that's not at all an unpleasant attack on the
viewers eye. Almost certainly not the greatest zombie comedy you've ever
seen, mind you, but approximately 25 minutes of ... fun!!! And
if you want to see the movie yourself, you best just go here:
