Your new movie Two Twisted Tales - in a few words, what is it about?

I’m just gonna give you the official plot outline that’s on our IMDb page, “The Visitor returns to bring you two more twisted tales of terror, including one about Genevieve: The Killer Doll.”

Both stories in Two Twisted Tales are about objects being covered in human skin - any explanation for this?

Yeah, I wanted both stories to have a theme and that just so happens to be the connecting factor of both stories.

(Other) sources of inspiration when writing Two Twisted Tales?

My inspirations for this short would be a mixture of Tales from the Crypt and this YouTuber that I watch called Mr. Nightmare, I would say.

Two Twisted Tales once returns to the possessed doll Genevieve, known from some of your previous movies - what makes you return to her ever so often, how much fun is it to think up stories for her, and will there be more Genevieve movies in the future?

Originally, we had bigger plans for the next Genevieve short but because of the pandemic, our plans weren’t possible to go through with. So we put Genevieve in here to just kind of wrap up her story for now. I do enjoy making Genevieve films a lot but there is only so much you can do with that concept and a limited budget. As for the future of that character, I’m not sure at the moment, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

What can you tell us about your movie's approach to horror?

I was going for a mix of classic horror and modern horror for this one, the stories are all about tragedy and terrible situations, but both of them end with a bit of a wink if you know what I mean.

For Two Twisted Tales you have chosen a narrative-heavy approach, almost like an audioplay with pictures - why is that, and what can you tell us about making a movie that way?

Well, the reason why I did it that way was that I was so limited with what I had to work with so I was almost forced to do it that way, it took a lot of work to pull it off but I think we accomplished our goal with it.

You also play the seemingly all-knowing Visitor in Two Twisted Tales - so do talk about the character, and how much fun was it to play him?

The Visitor is my personal favorite part of the film because I played him in Tales from Six Feet Under too but I didn’t give him much to work within that film because he was very much a side character. But in this short film, I would say he is very much the main character and I loved every second of bringing that character to life this time around.

What can you tell us about your co-star Alexis Beacher, also one of the executive producers of your movie, and what was your collaboration like?

Alexis is my girlfriend and she loves being a part of my film projects, and this one is no different, I always love working with her creatively because she looks at films in a completely different way than I do, and that can be really helpful to me.

Do talk about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere!

The on-set atmosphere and shoot for this one were probably the most relaxed shoot out of every one of my films so far, I would say we probably had the most fun shooting this film too.

The $64-question of course, where can Two Twisted Tales be seen?

Two Twisted Tales will be available exclusively via Amazon Prime Video on January 1, 2021!

Anything you can tell us about audience and critical reception of Two Twisted Tales?
