First of all, why don't you introduce yourself to those of us
unfortunate enough to not already know you?
Meet Tanner! Addicted to Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Em,

other girls in the industry, you seem to be in porn with a passion - is
this passion real or are you just a really good actress? I'm
not in love with every guy that I work with. I'm in love with fucking
and sucking. LOL I've actually heard a director tell me, "you can't
fake something like that!". I'm flattered that my love for the

Your career highlight(s) so far?
OMG! Being nominated for sooooooo many things in 09-10, all
the way to France! And winning the ones that mattered to me the
most; AEBN's Best Newcomer! It's like, the top pay-per-viewed
startlet. And XBIZ's People's Choice Award for Best New Starlet. The
people have spoken! Last but not least, of course, Den
honoring me with Cyberspace Adult Video Review's Starlet of the
Year 2009! I had no clue that was just the beginnning. Even
writing for WHACK! Magazine about porn, or my life in porn, is
amazing. I've always wanted to write, only by my birth-name (haha). I
think even still being in the porn industry is an accomplishment. I
thought I'd work three months, max. Seemed like everyone was just
in-and-out, I guess.
Also, the meltdown video, although "highlight" may not be the
proper term. It really put all I have to the test, my faith,
hope, and willpower all needed to be re-assessed. I wasn't sure who
I was or what I'd become. I had a lot of time to think during the
summer of 2009. I was living like a stereotypical pornstar, but I
didn't care because I was high on xanax. "That's
okay", and "I don't know" were probably the only
two sentences I could pronounce without slurring, and I've wiped
those out of my vocabular completely. Porn is a business. I'm selling an
image. It's literally that simple. It's hard to see that with your head
up your ass.
What do you prefer to be in
as a performer, gonzo porn or plot-based porn?
A scene is
fun to me based on originality. I love creativeness. It's easier
if you're both sharing the same fantasy to act out rather than starting
the scene sitting on the couch making out ;)

Pornstars you'd
like to work with but haven't yet? I suppose Tori Black.
Kagney Linn Karter. Maybe Lexington Steele. You have been in
numerous pornographic films. Ever thought about crossing the line and
making a movie away from pornography/erotica, as have quite a few
pornstars in recent years? And do you see yourself at all as an actress? I've
blown a mainstream director acting out roles, one
guy said he needed to make sure I was completely comfortable
on-screen. I've stuck to sucking dick on screen instead of
trying to land roles that way. The guy was a complete
fake. There was no role to fulfill.
Aside
from performing, you also write for WHACK! Magazine. A few words
about Tanner Mayes, the writer? There's really no
difference. I have an enormous passion for sex and writing combined,
plus I'm an honest person. I'm sure it makes me more interesting if people
can trust what I say - down to all of my sexual encounters.
Unfortunately, not even
you can stay young forever. What are your plans for after your porn
career?
No worries, even if Tanner dies down. Honestly, I
have a strong need to excel. I'm pretty good at anything that interests
me, and I've opened an IRA. Any future projects you'd like to talk about? It's
a secret :)
What
did you do before your porn career, and what made you switch to porn?
I was working as a Legal Assistant for The Legal Defense Group
and attending Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I decided to leave the
law office after being contacted by PW recruiter, Missy Mae.
I have read somewhere that prior to your first shoot, you didn't even know
what hardcore porn was. Is that true, and if so, how did you react when
you found out what you were supposed to do - and what else can you tell us
about your very first shoot? Well, that's true. I wasn't
sheltered, though, by all means. I knew what sex was. I had
alot of um, practice. When my agent from Giirlz Inc proposed the idea, I
know my jaw dropped. I remember using the terms "weiner" and
"crotch", and they had to cut because it was so inappropriate. I
didn't know what they wanted me to do, how they wanted me to move, or what
they wanted me to say. I've sort of evolved onscreen for all of this. I
was raised thinking sex was a bad thing. I kept my sex life a secret
for so long that fucking on camera felt soo wrong that I liked it. It was
a secret for like, 2 months. Now my family and hometown know!
Any advice for young girls
wanting to break into the porn industry?
Don't break your morals for anyone except yourself. Make goals. Save your money.
The one stupid
question I feel obliged to ask anyhow: Your favourite position(s)?
I like to mm... like, work my bottom half around a cock. That way, I can

Your supposedly notorious on-set meltdown last summer has probably been blown
out of proportion and talked to death by now, yet I feel an interview with
you wouldn't be complete without at least mentioning it. Ok, mentioned it,
anything you want to add to everything already said? Talked
to death is an exaggerated statement. I'm not going to add
anything that hasn't been said already: You don't even know the half of
what really went on during my "friendship" with those men. After
it became unbearable, I snapped. I was also on xanax and had been
drinking on set. It escaladed to something epic, I suppose, and we're no
longer "friends". As
far as I know, Tanner Mayes is not your real name. How did you come up
with this rather unusual name? I'm a tanning-bed WHORE and
my first love's last name is Meyers. I wanted Tanner Meyers, but the
spelling was too iffy for traffic and followers. Hence: Mayes. Your website, MySpace,
