Robin Hood (Richard Greene) learns that an innocent man, Will Stukeley
(Robert Desmond) is going to be hanged at the Sheriff of Nottingham's
(Alan Wheatley) command, and he is determined to do something about it. So
he enters Nottingham in the guise of a butcher, creates an uproar (among
butchers) and somehow he manages to get to the Sheriff in no time, whom he
offers cheap beef.
And the Sheriff, having somehow forgotten how his arch-enemy looks,
falls for it and rides with Robin into Sherwood Forest ... where he is
taken prisoner (serves him right for his stupidity alone).
Somehow Robin manages to get the news into town just before Stukeley is
hanged and proposes an exchange of prisoners.
But at the exchange, just outside the city gates, Robin walks into a
trap and is shot at by the city guards, only just saved by Friar Tuck
(Alexander Gauge) and company, who seem to hold a spontaneous funeral
procession ...
Nothing great but an ok episode of the series.
