Sir Hubert (Brian Worth) arrives at Maid Marian's (Bernadette
O'Farrell) court, claiming her father ahs prlomised her to him in marriage
- which is even true. But Robin Hood (Richard Greene) knows that Sir
Hubert is really only after Marians dowry, so Marian makes up a plan and
changes places with her old maid Ada (Thora Hird), to see if he will take
whichever woman comes to get the dowry, or if he looks for real beauty. Of
course, Hubert pretends to be madly in love with Ada, but the plan still
backfires, as he also tries to make avances to Marian, who pretends to be
Ada's maid ... which is enough to convince Marian's guardian uncle George
(A.J.Brown) that he is really in love with Marian when the whole charade
blows.
So, at the day of the wedding, Robin Hood enters the ceremony in the
guise of a suitor to whom Marian was promised years earlier (but who never
came to collect), and he challenges Hubert to a duel - which Robin not
only wins, he also forces Hubert to confess that he is really only after
the dowry ...
Now Robin and Marian really could marry, but his friends save
him from that right before the ceremony.
Nothing great but an ok episode that even includes some laughs.
