One fine day, Sir Duncan (Hugh McDermott), a Highlander, visits Robin
Hood (Richard Greeene) and his merry men in Sherwood Forest. At first, he
seems a nice enough guy, but when he tries to woo Maid Marian (Bernadette
O'Farrell) and she is even impressed by his charms, Robin likes the
Scotsman a little less. Plus Robin can't shake the feeling that Sir Duncan
has a hidden agenda ... and how right he is, too - but the Scotsman seems
to still come out on top when he at a hunting trip first captures Robin,
then lures his men out of their hideout, then sneaks into their hideout
and searches their loot.
Upon comiong back, Robin and his men think he is a common thief and
want to hang him - but then Sir Duncan tells them of a dagger vastly
important to his people and Scotland as such that was stolen from them by
the Normans and stolen from the Normans by Robin Hood and his merry men.
Of course this softens the heart of Robin and company, and they not only
set Sir Duncan free but also give him back his dagger ...
This episode features very little in terms of action on one hand, on
the other hand a rather unexciting story that does not justify the lack of
action. Only Hugh McDermott mercilessly hamming up his role as the
Highlander is rather amusing.
One of the lesser episodes.
