Jack (Jack Cullison) has a bunch of problems: He has lost his job, and his dad (Ryan Gold) is going to kill him for that if he finds out. He has also started to rent out rooms in the house his parents have provided him with to all his college friends, which his dad is also going to kill him for should he ever find out. And dad would kill him for as good as failing business class, if he only knew. Now there's one chance he at least passes business class, and that's turning a run-down car wash into a profitable business within a week ... hah, fat chance there. But of course, Jack has a real friend to fall back on - well, a friend-ish guy at least, over-sexed Vex (Jason Lockhart), who persuades Jack to turn the car wash into a bikini car wash to turn things around, because guys like to see girls in bikinis, period. Well, Vex likes to see girls in bikinis anyways, and it has to be said, Jack's female friends are all very cute and sexy. Against all odds, the car wash turns out to be really profitable, but that's hardly the end of Jack's problems, as neither his dad nor his professor (Tom McLaren) would really approve of the business he runs, he has attracted the attention of two extortionist mobsters (Heath Centazzo, Brendan Nagle) - and worst of all, Jack risks to lose the respect of his best friend Brittany (Ashley Park) over it, a woman he has been in love now for years without ever knowing (and vice versa). And that's only the beginning of Jack's problems ...

Ok, if by hearing the title All American Bikini Car Wash, associations soft erotica from the 1980s and 90s on late night TV pop up almost instantly, nobody can blame you I suppose, and you do get quite a bit of topless nudity in this film, plus plenty of hot girls in skimpy bikinis - but the focus isn't on the female body in various stages of undress here, All American Bikini Car Wash manages to tell an actual story carried by colourful characters, and paced in a way that pushes the narrative forward rather than make room for a few more boobies - all of which is also helped by some rather decent acting, a brand of comedy clearly above toilet humour and the simply moronic , and a rather subtle direction that all make this film into something different than just a softcore romp. Sure, this is not the next Citizen Kane, nor will a film with a title like All American Bikini Car Wash ever try to be ... it's just 90+ minutes of innocent and at the same time slighly naughty entertainment - simply put: great summer fun!
