Deputy Barney (Don Knotts) just can't stand it anymore that his boss
Andy (Andy Griffith) is still unmarried and playing both mom and dad to
his son Opie (Ron Howard), so he tries to hook him up with everys single
woman in town, and when he learns that Andy might be getting friendly with
Opie's teacher Helen (Aneta Corsaut), he tries to help out here as well -
but soon disapproves of her when he learns she can't cook and won't give
up her job. Thing is, Andy likes Helen, and despite all of Barney's
attempts to sabotage the whole thing from square one, he continues
courting her. Mostly a clichéed story, but there are actually
some genuine laughs in this episode.
