Two hosts, the Crimson Creeper (John Shelton) and Baydz 1 (Bayden Ray
Redshaw) introduce us to a trio of stories, to make our Christmas properly
creepy:
- Bed Time: All our hero wants to do is to get some sleep - but
then he hears a noise that might suggest there's someone in the house
... well, hasn't he heard that curiosity kills the cat?
- The Doll: A guy receives a box containing a creepy doll ...
and is rather freaked out by it, to the extent that he locks it away
in a cupboard. Thing is, the doll doesn't like to be locked away.
- Crimson Origins: The origin of then Crimson Creeper has to do
with - you guessed it - murder.
Bed Time Stories - The
Anthology: Christmas Edition Volume 1 is pretty much horror in its
most basic form, and in this case, that's a good thing: The narratives of
the three episodes might be skeletal, but they are atmorphere-heavy and
really creepy. As for the host bits - I have to admit they are a bit too
wordy, especially when compared to the almost dialogue-less segments, but
there is a certain tongue-in-cheek and definitely old school charm to them
to so they're still highly entertaining.
In all, maybe not perfect but definitely worth a look!
