More than anything else, Adrian (Tofei) wants to make a movie with Anne
Hathaway, especially after seeing her as Catwoman
in The Dark Knight Rises - the one problem is (besides of all the
other problems regarding getting an Hollywood star starring in your indie
movie of course) that Adrian has a busload of social anxieties, to the
point that he has never ever been able to leave his hometown, a small
village in Romania. But no matter, he figures if he makes a video that
proves him to be a great director and sends it to Anne, she'll come, and
so he hires an actress (Sonia Teodoriu) to act as her stand-in and uses
her in all sorts of situations just to prove his own worth ... and
ultimately kills her. Not thinking that would in the slightest scare off
Anne Hathaway, he hires two more actresses (Florentina Hariton, Alexandra
Stroe) and puts them in situations he would see Anne in - and his
scenarios become increasingly more disturbing ... and dangerous! Now
found footage films often have the problem that the protagonists are
holding onto their cameras for all the wrong reasons instead of doing what
their characters would actually do (like saving their own hides), but this
film does it right, as the fact that Adrian is filming what he's doing is
the essential point of the movie, the story simply wouldn't make any sense
if he wasn't filming it. And Adrian Tofei's performance (along with his
camerawork) is really unnerving enough to totally get one into the
disturbing mood that's underlying the whole movie, and in the context of
which the occasional dark humour only makes things creepier, as do the
rather authentic performances of the rest of the cast. In all, one eerie
odball of a movie!
