The Clampett's are hungry, so Jethro (Max Baer jr) goes out hunting -
in the middle of Beverly Hills - , Uncle Jeb (Buddy Ebsen) phones the
Beverly Caterers, and drives their telephone operator (Kathy Kersh) mad to
an extent that she insults him and is later sent round to his house by her
boss (Peter Bourne) to apologize, and Granny (Irene Ryan) spots a kangaroo
that has escaped from one of their neighbours (Arthur Gould-Porter),
thinks it to be a giant jackrabbit and wants to unt it down to cook it.
Problem is, the kangagoo repeatedly outsmarts her and nobody wants
to believe her she has seen a giant jackrabbit. And ultimately, Jethro
ends up in the trap she has laid for the jackrabbit ...
In itself not totally unfunny, but at times the naivity of its central
characters is exaggerated too much for the story to actually work.
