When young Jill (Cari Salochek) comes home to Smalltown, USA, from
college to visit her parents, she finds them gone, and she finds nobody
really interested in their disappearance because her father, a banker, was
responsible for the foreclosure of many a farm of the region. Plus, Jill
is freaked out by a clown in her kitchen, who ultimately turns out to be
Marvelous Mervo, the slightly mad brother of her childhood sweetheart Gary
(Ed Bevin). Gary is the only one who takes Jill's problems seriously, but
then he learns about her fiancé Scott (Peter Krause), and when Scott
arrives at her place and Gary witnesses there lovemaking, he's really
hurt. A short time later, Scott disappears, and so does another friend
of Jill's (Lori Minnetti), and Gary tries to step in to console her - and
make love to her ... but once again he's turned down. Of course, Jill's
parents, her fiancé and her friend have all been murdered, but thus far
only the audience knows that. Enter Marvelous Mervo, who tries to disclose
some secret to Jill, but his brother Gary interferes, the two fight ...
and Jill shoots Mervo to save Gary ... bad decision, because it was
actually Gary who killed her folks, fiancé and friend because she has
turned him down, and now he wants to do the same to her. She tries every
trick to get out of the situation, even if that means telling him she
loves him, but to no avail. Gary is pretty much in the process of
slaughtering her when he's shot by Mervo, who's a good guy after all (and
despite his insanity), and who saves her life ... Stupid and
unimaginatively written rural slasher/whodunnit that's still a (minor) gem
for trash film masochists (like myself) because of its particularly trashy
script as well as surreal Tiny Tim's bad acting and worse falsetto singing.
However, if you're not into bad films, don't watch this one, you'll hate
it.
