Finally Susan (Sarah Alexander) is about to have her baby, but she & Steve (Jack Davenport) apparently can't go to therhospital without first messing all their friends' lives up: First up they stop at Patrick's (Ben Miles) appartment, where he is having a row with his girlfriend Sally (Kate Isitt) because he has once slept with Jane (Gina Bellman) - which was befroe their relationship though - & now she wants to see the videotape of their sex (since Patrick tapes all his sexual adventures - see the episode Cupboard of Patrick's Love) - Jane though has taped over the sex-bits & instead gives Patrick advice on lovemaking on his sextape. Eventually it all ends in Patrick proposing to Sally ...

Next, Susan & Steve stop at Jane's flat, where she's about to have sex with Oliver (Richard Mylan) - & find out it might really be getting serious with them as Jane - Steve's ex - calims she has finally gotten over Steve ... & Steve has never given her an orgasm. But maybe she says that to reassure Oliver ...

Final stop, hospital, where everything is taking longer than expected & Steve dozes off & dreams about Jeff coming back - as a woman (Samantha Spiros). Then, Susan, despite complications, successfully gives birth to a baby, & Steve, despite initial reservations, soon bonds with the kid ...

Some funny jokes can't hide the fact that the basic story of this episode is totally falling apart as it somehow tries to tie up all the narrative strands of Coupling's fourth season in one go ... & eventually each time it tries to huit a serious note towards the end - which doesn't really work for the characters or the series as a whole. & the story of Jeff as a woman is downright bad - & does just show how much the actual Jeff (Richard Coyle) is missing from the proceedings.
