Andrew (Devon Sawa) is suffering from nightmares ever since his uncle
(Matt Lattimore) was abducted by aliens and later declared insane - so
Andrew's friends decide to take him on a camping trip right to the place
where his uncle said he was abducted so he can face his fears ... but he
doesn't face his fears, he and his friends face an alien hunter who hunts
the youngsters for trophies, and soon, the gang is down to four, Andrew,
his feisty love interest (Sanoe Lake), the token black guy (Dan White) and
his Latino girlfriend (Fernanda Romero), and after they have realized the
hard way there is nowhere to run to, they take the alien down head-on,
using all their ingenuity - and wouldn't you know it, in the end they kill
their adversary. Little more than an uninteresting collection
of science fiction and horror clichés carried by a few modestly talented
actors and seasoned by unconvincing CGI effects. Don't expect atmosphere
here, and tension is replaced by characters either running or shouting at
each other, plus you don't really expect decent storytelling here? Truth
to be told, there are much worse films of this ilk out there, but that's
not reason enough to even consider watching this one.
