David Cross (Sean Weathers) basically just hates women, as from his
adolescence on, he has been turned down by them constantly (at least in
his mind), which in turn has seriously affected his mental growth. So
nowadays, he blames everything bad that happens to him on womankind as
such, and when another date doesn't work out like he imagined, he never
blames it on his lack of basic social skills but always on the woman in
question - and unfortunately, these days he's no longer willing to accept
the fact that he's just not that attractive to women, these days he has
started to murder them as punishment ... Definitely not a movie
for everyone, this is a first person story told by a dangerous misonogyst
that pretty much forces you to identify with the lead and his revulsive
acts, which will of course leave a bad taste in your mouth - which is
actually the film's strength, as this is not a misogynist movie as such,
it never tries to find excuses for its lead character's acts at all, it
just leaves it to the audience to condemn him and his actions without
being spoon-fed the "moral of the story". And the somewhat bland
camerawork (mostly first person shots and static tripod set-ups) only help
to get into the lead's perspective, as do some rather raw performances,
all tieing up to a disturbing whole that (again) is not for everybody, but
the open-minded and not-easily-offended viewer will probably get a kick
out of this.
