Doctor Who (David Tennant) takes the bus (actually, more of an
airplane) to visit a vacation planet to relax - however, problems soon
arise as the bus soon loses its cockpit, then possesses one of the
passengers, Sky Silvestri (Lesley Sharp) then even seems to take control
of the Doctor himself - and while the other passengers argue, it becomes
clearer and clearer they want to lynch the Doctor ... until the air
hostess (Rakie Ayola), who has proven herself rather incapable so far,
figures the alien is still in Mrs Silvestri, grabs her, and leaps out of
the door (and to her death) hanging onto the possessed woman ... This
could have been a rather good episode if the script, which is based on an
interesting premise, had a little more meat on its bones, and the
direction was a bit more on the imaginative side. As it is, the narrative
becomes repetitive all too quickly and the direction makes very little of
the limited sets (mostly the passengers' cabin of the bus) to keep the
whole thing interesting. Still, that's not to say this episode is
essentially bad, it's just mediocre and could have been much better.
