Scientist Lazarus (Mark Gattis), who is well over 70 but looks way
older, has invented a machine that makes him young again - unfortunately
it also turns him into a giant scorpion-like monster that has to
completely dehydrate people in order to survive. Doctor Who (David
Tennant) and M;artha (Freema Agyeman) can stop the monster at the
machine's presentation, but it's not dead and hides in a nearby church,
where the doctor, Martha and Martha's sister Tish (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) put a
stop to the monster for good ...
A feeble story that reduces Doctor who to a monster hunter and is
overburdened with special effects. Apart from that we are introduced to
Martha's family - above mentioned Tish, her mother (Adjoa Andoh) and her
brother Leo (Reggie Yates) -, which can only mean the worst: An ongoing
soap opera subplot that keeps the actual plots from developing to full
swing - it happened in seasons 1 and 2 as well, you know.
