A film that takes you through a freakshow featuring all the typical characters like the clown, the mechanic fortune teller (Victoria Vengeance), the sword-swallowing mystic (Murrugen the Mystic) - and his cock-swallowing mystress) -, the gypsy and of course the escape artist (Sasha Grey). Since this is no ordinary freakshow though but a peepshow, all these characters are caught in sexuzal situations.

if you want to blend porn with underground/arthouse, a freakshow with its outrageous characters, otherworldly props, costumes and backdrops, and its slightly seedy atmosphere seems to be the perfect backdrop - and to a point, Enter the Peepshow makes perfect use of it. Problem is though, the film only tries to be art, but only comes across as artsy with its unusual colour compositons, sudden changes between colour and black-and-white sequences, change in quality of filmstock (an effect probably added in post though, as I'm almost certain this film was shot on video from start to finish), (over-)use of kaleidoscope effects, its experimental score, and so on and so forth - and yet when it comes to the sex scenes (naturally the backbone of the film), the whole thing stays remarkably clear of original ideas and limits itself to filming the action.

That said, the sex scenes taken by themselves are not exactly bad, and a film that ends on a 15 minute sequence featuring Sasha Grey as a very naked escape artist caught between three glory holes, one cannot really complain, right? (For uninitiated: A glory hole is a simple hole in the wall through which a man sticks his penis for very anonymous satisfaction by the person of the other side, mainly of the oral variety.)

So yeah, if you have 75 minutes to spend and are up for a bit of out-of-the-ordinary porn, then this might be right up your alley - just don't expect to be blown away in any sort of way.
