Rachel (Gina Ferraro) has invited her boyfriend Colin (Patrick Jones)
and their best friends Liam (Jake Kopronica) and Christine (Noelle Taylor)
to a nice party in her cabin in the woods ... which comes to a sudden halt
when Rachel collapses, and everything suggests she's suffering from some
serious condition. Not having a cellphone signal up in the woods, Liam and
Christine agree to drive to the next ranger's station for help - but on
the way there, their car breaks down, and when he's trying to fix it,
Liam's throat is slit by a hooded figure (Kyle Hotz), who then goes after
Christine. She manages to escape and runs into the arms of ... Rachel -
and now she knows something's far from right ... The Fear
Revival is an extremely likeable horror miniature that makes the most
of its skeletal plot and thus doesn't waste much time with explanations,
rather keeping a focus on suspense and tension, shocks and chases, and the
occasionall gross-out elements. And the direction keeps them all in
balance very well, also helped by a very competent cast. Pretty cool,
actually!
