It's karaoke night at a dingy local dive, and after a performance by
lovely and talented Mia (Rita Borges), one of the guests, Pablo (Francisco
Afonso Lopes) tries every trick in the book his macho mind can come up
with to get into her panties, without even acknowledging that she acts
less than interested from the get-go. And Pablo gets so agressive in his
avances that Mia has to resort to violence to get rid of him - and even
then he's boasting to his friend over the phone about how he's had sex
with her. And then, in the bar's parking lot, he crosses paths with an
alien (André Torres) - an alien with a great sexual appetite, and next on
its menu is Pablo ... Now Karaoke Night is not the
subtlest of films, in fact it's very much on the Troma
side of things when it comes to both humour and gross-out effects
- but that doesn't stop the film from being pretty hilarious, from its
intentionally blunt dialogues to its monster design, and as an added
bonus, despite it being loud and silly, the film has its heart at the
right place ... and is just so much fun to watch.
