Young Faith's (Sarah Alexandra Marks) parents have died only recently,
which is why her best friend (and part time prostitute) Cindy (Sarah T.
Cohen) wants to do something very special for their first Christmas
together - but unfortunately there's also a (walking) Christmas tree that's out for
vengeance, and that's never good party material ...
Now I won't lie, The Killing Tree isn't the most
original of movies, storywise - and I'm pretty convinced it has ever set
out to be, really: Basically, this is a slasher, only the killer is ... a
Christmas Tree!!! And this concept is silly as can be, but the film
actually works thanks to clever writing, a genre-savvy direction that goes
for the gruesome over the cheap joke, and a pretty solid ensemble,
bringing it all to live very beautifully - and making for a rather awesome
slasher comedy for sure!!!
