Juliane (Renée Eskildsen) is still recovering from a nasty breakup,
but when going out to a club, she's quick to get very friendly with Lottie
(Charlotte Gould). Steven (Tom Coulston), Juliane's best friend, warns
Lottie that Juliane has some serious mental problems, but Lottie doesn't
take him too seriously, and soon she and Juliane become a couple. Thing
is, Juliane's mental problems are very real, to the point that she often
loses touch with reality and starts hallucinating, and even though Lottie
grounds her the best she can, her hallucinations come more and more
frequently - and soon it's only a question of time when things will get
out of hand ... The Mind of Juliane is a rather original
little drama that chooses a slow build-up and unexcited approach to really
get the viewer into Juliane's mindset, to make her feelings and also
hallucinations palpable with the effect that the finale thus really packs
a punch - while totally being in line with everything that has happened
before. And of course, a strong ensemble cast really help in bringing the
film's point across. Worth a watch for sure.
