Someone is bumping off girls at an exclusive boarding school ... but
who is the killer and why? It's eventually found out that the killer is
obviously after young Lucille (Eleonora Brown), who is about to inherit a
large sum of money in a few weeks time, but who could he be? The
gardener (Alan Collins) maybe, who likes to do a little peeping in his
spare time? How about the local entomologist (Aldo De Carellis)? The gym
teacher (Giovanni Di Benedetto)? The principal (Vivian Stapleton)? Even
one of the girls maybe? After much to and fro, riding teacher Richard
(Mark Damon), also Lucille's secret lover, becomes the prime suspect,
especially after he is nowhere to be found while the dead body of Ms Clay,
one of the teachers, is discovered not far from the school. But no, the
real killer is ... Ms Clay (Ludmila Lvova), who isn't really Ms Clay at
all and not even a woman, but Lucille's cousin who would get her
inheritance in the case of her death. And now, with the real Ms Clay gone,
the cousin thinks it's easy to bump off Lucille and take off with the
money ... Only in the last second is the fake Ms Clay shot down by the
investigating inspector (Michael Rennie), who got called to the scene via
walkie talkie by Lucille's spunky friend Jill (Sally Smith).

From
the time when the Italian giallo-genre was still in its infancy, this is a
lively if oldfashioned murder mystery very much reminiscent of the German
Edgar Wallace-series ... which doesn't necessarily make Naked
you Die a bad film - quite the contrary: While definitely no
masterpiece, the film is well-paced, competently directed, enjoyably
filled with primary colours, and expertly balanced between dorm romp and
suspense thriller. The only problem is that the killer of the piece is
given away way too soon, at least in the Italian language version: Ms
Clay's voice sounds so unmistakingly male that you actually expect her to
be revealed a crossdresser - and let's face it, aren't crossdressers
always trouble (only on film of course, not in real life)? Still, as a
whole, the film is quite enjoyable.
