Jemma (May Desiligny) is one of these reporters hell-bent to land a
scoop - and in her case it's to find professor Korenz (Roberto Ricci) in
the Amazon jungle, where he went to find the lost Imas tribe. So she takes
with her science geek Pete (Pio Maria Federici) and pilots Fred (Mario
Merlo) and Mark (Fabrizio Merlo), and off they are to ... a little jungle
village where they run out of gas. And since the only man in this village
who has gas is a monkey trader, they have to hunt monkeys to pay for the
gas - and run into a native tribe that almost kills them in horrible ways
because they steal the tribe's monkeys. Later, they find the tribe that
might lead them to Professor Korenz almost wiped out, but pick up topless
Kuwala (Jessica Quintero), who is able to lead them to the Professor - but
not before they have fought and defeated child hunters and gold hunters. Ultimately,
they find the Professor amidst a tribe of natives - who turn out to not be
the Imas at all but a tribe the Professor wants to turn into Imas to have
them lead him to the Imas' legendary gold treasure. However, Now that
reporter Jemma is here though, a whole array of other options seems to
unfold before the Professor to mount an expedition to find the treasure of
the Imas ... there's just one thing, Pete, Fred and Mark are witnesses who
could spill the beans that the Professor has never really found the Imas
in the first place - which is why the Professor and Jemma just steal the
plane to make it back to the civilisation, leaving the others with the
natives just like that ... A ridiculous little jungle film that
seems to have been built in the jungle plot construction kit rather than
actually written, as it lacks any real build-up, rather throws its
protagonists into one standard situation after the next without properly
interlinking the seperate stories. Add to this a flat, uninspired
direction and utterly unlikeable leads and you are left with very little,
and it's not even so-bad-it's-good ... By the way, this one is marketed
as a cannibal film in some regions (and as Cannibal Holocaust 2
even), even though there are no cannibals in the movie at all.
