After a botched up relationship, Chandler (Hunter Bolton) has moved
away to a new city in hopes to be able to move on, but a new city with no
friends has only left him with too much time to overthink on past
mistakes, so tonight he re-connects with his best buddies Jules (Brian
Forbes) and Ty (Ty Rowe), and the three of them go on an all-night trip of
binge drinking, touring all the local bars and house parties until the wee
hours of the morning. And while this, besides his ex (Giulia Marie
Dalbec), is another thing Chandler wanted to move away from, and also
while this might be neither healthy nor intellectually challenging, it
shows Chandler where he's standing in the bigger picture, and also teaches
him there's other fish (Amy Brower) in the sea ...
Now this is pretty much a fly-on-the-wall movie where the
camera's always close (sometimes uncomfortably close) on the action, the
action sometimes seems random, and the whole thing has a very naturalistic
feel to it. And this style becomes the film's story very well, as it's a
bit of a slice-of-life movie that doesn't even pretend to be about grand
themes or give exhaustive answers to big questions, but it tells a story
that's almost instantly relatable and that has a very natural feel to it,
also due to its very organic blend of drama and comedy, and that as a
consequence makes a very engaging and enjoyable watch.
