Young Dalton (Nic Wolfe) is riddled with guilt, ever since he has lost his brother in an accident two years ago, so when a new neighbour, Irene (April Hollingsworth) who just happens to claim to be a witch offers to perform a séance for him so he can talk to his brother and find closure, he seizes the opportunity - much to the shock and dismay of his best friend Sam (Shayla Love). Now Dalton thinks she's just superstitious, but Sam does some digging on Irene, and what she comes up with even exceeds her wildest fears, including that Irene might be a descendant of or even in person be the first Salem witch. However, when Dalton invites his best friends (Anastasia Pekhtereva, Davien Harlis, Renier Cortes, Walnette Marie Santiago) to the séance, Sam joins out of peer pressure. And Irene assures them everything will be perfectly safe as long as the circle's not broken. But Sam is so freaked out by things happening during the séance that she, also triggered by Irene, does break the circle - and then all hell breaks loose ...

Now granted, narratively this movie might not score too high on the originality-meter - but that doesn't mean it's not a genuinely scary film, and one that's very well structured at that, using the first roughly half to give the proceedings a genuinely creepy backbone before going all-out horror and hitting just the right mix between atmospheric and visceral horror. And a very able and on top of that very relatable cast help to really suck one into the goings-on on an emotional level and make this a very cool horror experience.
