Deep in the African jungle: Broxton & Cakes are 2 criminals
specialized in stealing ivory, & during their last heist, they even
killed a few tribesmen to force their will onto some ivory-carrying
porters. But since Broxton & Cakes know that killing tribesmen might
bring the wrath of their tribe upon them, they choose the research station
of Ramar white jungle doctor (Jon Hall), his assistant Ogden (Robert
Montgomery) & their cockney guide Charlie (James Fairfax) as
stronghold. Ramar & company however have wits enough to manage to
throw them out, but that doesn't slow Broxton & Cakes down one bit,
they merely hire porters from another tribe, soon track down an elephant
herd & start shooting the animals, when the first tribe attacks ...
& soon everyone fights, the 2 tribes against each other, everyone
against the white men, the elephants against everyone else, squashing
natives & white men alike ... until in the very end Ramar &
company can set everything right again & after a fight on water arrest
the ivory thieves. Rather straightforward jungle adventure with
all the usual letdowns, e.g. the stock jungle footage sloppily edited into
the studio shot material (especially when the [stock] elephants being shot
are contrasted with the [newly filmed] white men shooting them), the
jungle sets are trather modest, & the plot is very unimaginative ...
however, sme people (like me) might like this episode (& the series as
a whole) for precisely these reasons.
