When Randall & Hopkirk's former secretary Felia's (Pauline Quirke) is kidnapped & she seriously threatened by a gang of killers led by a woman in black (Brana Bajic), she calls on Jeff Randall (Bob Mortimer) & his assistant Jeannie (Emilia Fox) - Jeff's deceased partner Marty hopkirk's  (Vic Reeve) fiancée - for help.Thing is though that Felia lives now in Latvia ...

And while Jeannie defends Felia gun in hand & soon has to butt heads with the woman in black, & Jeff follows a feeble lead to a weird nurse, Ana Rublova (Anna Korwin), who sends him to almost certain death, Marty, who is still around as a spirit only Jeff can see, finds Felia's deceased husband Yuri (Armen Gregory) in the afterlife, & learns a thing or two about a weird Latvian warrior-God, Butranekh, who might be reborn in Felia's son's body.

At the same time, Jeff gets into a squeeze with a gang of Latvian gangsters who want to strip him off his money in a cardgame - but he receives unexpected help from Pola Sunset (Tina Tutkova), a Latvian pornstar, who thinks Jeff will lead her to the reincarnation Butranekh ... but when they go to search for the Butra-cult deep in the Latvian forests together, the Butra-cult kills Pola with multiple arrows ...

& while at Jeannie & Felia's hideout the 2 women have got a massive shoot-out with the woman in black o& her henchies (who all in some way belong to the Butra-cult, Jeff finally reaches the headquarters of the cult even deeper in the woods, finds Felia's son, meets the cult's leader - to little surprise for either him or the audience it's Ana Rublov - & has to realize he is supposed to be the next blood-sacrifice ...

But thank god the Butra-cult has also kept the corpse of the original Butranekh - on a throne in full armour - in good shape over the centuries, & now Marty comes in handy as he possesses the corpse, frightens the heebigeebies out of everyone & convinces the cult to not sacrifice Jeff, nor to keep Felia's son instead have Jeff return him to his mother ...

& hsi mother, Felia, & Jeannie have meanwhile defeated the woman in black, & now all can live happily ever after ...

A more serious than usual episode, with a moody direction & some fine plot elements - especially those involving the sinister Butra cult including its roots in Latvian lore -, only Jeannie as tough-as-nails bitch in a shoot-out just doesn't work at all ...
