Cynthia (Lina Romay) is the top stripper at a posh seaside night club, but she also does a bit of whoring on the side, preferably with wealthy customers. But when Alpha (Evelyne Scott) asks her to join her and her partner in a threesome, she gets much more than she asks for, because Alpha puts her under her own hypnotic spell and turns her pussy into a deadly weapon. Then she sends her off to seduce Madame Pécame (Monica Swinn) ...

Doctor Seward (Jess Franco) has long known about Alpha, who's actually a being from another dimension who ... well, not sure about her motives, but she needs to kill certain people, and Cynthia is her weapon of choice. But despite all of his knowledge, the doctor only gets hold of Cynthia after she has killed Madame Pécame. Cynthia though thinks Doc Seward is against her rather than Alpha and runs away, right back into Alpha's arms ... who subjects her to some shock treatment to make her her best submissive again, then sends her after Karma (Olivier Mathot), a researcher into other dimension, and Cynthia gets him to shag her in no time ... to deadly consequences. When Doctor Seward arrives on the scene though, Cynthia is already dying, too, because what Alpha has done to her pussy to make her a deadly weapon wasn't exactly a health treatment ...

Though Jess Franco is at the height of his game, directionwise, getting the most out of architecture and landscapes, surprising the viewer with unexpected but interesting camera movements and the like, and Lina Romay looks her best, and she's in the nude a lot, Shining Sex is not one of their better films. Basically the film is based on too weird a concept to be brought across as a mere series of sex scenes, and it could have really done with a bit of a budget to actually work. Plus, unfortunately the film's also rather irony free, which is something that has saved many an other Jess Franco movie. That said, still a hot little film, as Lina's really stunning in this one, but nothing you'll remember for long.
