Doctor Miracle, a shapeshifting intergalactic assassin who likes to
appear in female form, has landed on earth to help Professor Monster
(Mitsuo Ando) in his fight against Spider-Man (Shinji Todou) - much to the
dismay of the Professor's second-in-command Amazoness (Yukie Kagawa), who
thinks Doctor Miracle is trying to butt in on her turf - and she's right
of course. However, Doctor Miracle seems to be able to do what
Amazoness has not succeeded in doing the previous 35 episodes of the
series - to put Spidey out of commission, and her weapon of choice is the
sting of a spider-killing bee. Doctor Miracle is on her best way to
ultimately kill Spider-Man, too, but then she makes the mistake of taking
a few kids captives, and upon this, Spidey calls upon his incredible
regenerating ability to - well, regenerate instantly and put Doctor
Miracle out of commission. And Amazoness? She won't lift a finger to
come to Doctor Miracle's aid, of course. One of the more
interesting episodes inasmuch as with the fight between Doctor Miracle and
Amazoness, it adds a new element to the formula, and this time around, the
Spidey befriends kids-angle is downplayed instead of allowed to
take center stage. Plus, the (plastic-)bee Doctor Miracle turns into is
unintentionally hilarious and hilariously bad (as in cheap). Still,
nothing to get excited about.
