Yukino (Akie Yoshizawa) introduces Saki (Yoko Minamino) to her
childhood friend Saori, who has since become a TV star with the schoolgirl
band Onyanko Club (an actual band that in real life Akie Yoshizawa was a
member of), but when Saki and Okyo take her out on a shopping
spree, she's kidnapped pretty much under their noses. And since yo-yo
armed Saki is with law enforcement, it's her duty to investigate. But it
seems at the TV station Saori and company perform at, nobody seems to have
any leads for Saki and company - until they stumble upon a girl who tried
to sneak out of questioning, who tells them Saori had a boyfriend before
joining the Onyanko Club but had to drop him as Onyanko girls aren't
supposed to date. So Saki, Okyo and Yukino track down the boyfriend, and
he admits he hired three thugs to kidnap Saori, but only did it so she'll
be fired from the show for missing an episode, but the thugs decided to
hold her for ransom instead. Saki and her friends make it to the
kidnappers' secret hideout and have no problems overcoming them and
getting Saori back to the studio just in time for her show ... In
terms of action, this episode is rather disappointing as the one fight
scene is short and has a rather Three
Stooges quality to it, and intentionally so. But the camp
factor is high with the singing Onyanko girls and their taking to the
streets in full outfit to help our heroines finding their friend. Fun for
sure, but then again not really one of the better episodes.
