16 year old Amanda (Grace Madigan) has moved to a new city with her mom (Adria Dawn) and little brother (Noah Kitsos), and she couldn't be unhappier, having left her sweetheart (Shane Magwire) behind, who's quick to start a new relationship with her erstwhile best friend (Rachel Pospisil), which leaves Amanda heart-broken. Then she becomes convinced that the house they live in is haunted, but despite big promises, neither a local medium (Lynda Shadrake) nor a team of incompetent ghost hunters (Brian Wohl, Courtney Blomquist, Keith Habersberger, Marc Muszynski, Ricky Hascheneyer) prove to be of any real help, creating more confusion than they can offer solutions ... and then Amanda meets the ghost, Brian (Jack Cramer), and he's actually the nicest person she has met in a long time - true, he was a punkrock guitarist back when he was alive who was struck by lightning when he was playing his music on the roof on a stormy night, which wasn't a completely clever thing to do, but he has a big heart, and Amanda immediately digs him and soon falls in love with him, and he with her. Problem is, the more involved she becomes with the ghost whom nobody but her can see, the more she loses touch with normal life, and her behaviour gradually turns to the bizarre side, to a point where her mum wants to send her to counseling - only more so when Amanda tries to convince her she actually does have a ghost boyfriend. Now that might sound complicated enough already, but fact is that mum does have a secret that's directly linked to Brian as well ...

I might have to warn you beforehands, despite the word "punk" in the title, this is a completely family friendly film, the punkrock theme only relates to some of the music played in the film and some of vintage punk albums discussed. But if sweet teenage rom-coms are your thing and you can accept the supernatural element of Teenage Ghost Punk as well, then you're served with very decent fare with this one, it's well scripted with some genuinely funny jokes, it's well played, and it's just genuinely likeable.
