After agreeing to take part in a gouvernment-backed experiment to test
a drug to cure pretty much everything, her cousin Jordan has disappeared
from the center of the world (see the original Terminal
Legacy for that story) ... and now documentary filmmaker Tracy
(Courtney Cavanagh) wants to find out what had happened to him. It should
have been a pretty straight-forward thing, too, they interview the doctor
(Brian O'Neill) who has transferred him to the experiment, from there get
the next lead and the next and ... and it happens exactly not like that,
above doctor blocks off any questions in a manner that's nothing short of
suspicious, Jordan's ex has turned into an absolute maniac, the home of
the scientist who has developed "the wonderdrug" is now a
crimescene ... and eventually Tracy is abducted and finds herself at the
mercy of the very man behind everything (Lawrence Ballard) - only
"mercy" is not a word that ranks high up in his vocabulary ... Originally
intended to be nothing more than a promotional clip for Terminal
Legacy, Terminal Legacy: Lost Souls has actually turned out
to be a movie that's more than capable to stand on its own feet, with an
engaging story, some gruesome ideas of its own, and a relateable cast of
characters that were not in the first movie. Plus, it really understands
to use the "found footage" approach the right way, inasmuch as
it seems rather natural for the cameras to be on when they are, and the
premise for them to film isn't far-fetched or anything. On top of that,
the script knows how to use the approach and doesn't forget narrative
build-up because of it. Worth a watch for sure!
