The year is 2017, and the Israeli public is in a state of unrest due to
government corruption, coupled to rising costs of living not kept in
check by country leaders. And that's the time when Avner Peles (Ben Sela)
finds himself in a basement, tied to a chair, his head covered, and he has
no idea how he got here, what he's doing here, or who his kidnapper (Tomer
Lev Tov) is. But Avner is a member of parliament, and on Independence Day
2017, all of the members of parliament got kidnapped, in three waves. But
by whom? It's found out the kidnappers don't come from without but from
within, and they're no terrorist organisation in the classical sense of
the word. But the most haunting fact about them, they might be totally
right ... A very interesting little film that starts out as a
political thriller, but gets more and more philosophical the longer it
goes, but not to try and bring home a message via sledgehammer, merely to
provide food for thought. Narratively, the film cleverly changes back and
forth between two levels, one being the basement of the kidnapper, the
other a TV studio where a panel of talking heads discuss the situation,
getting closer and closer to the actual, haunting truth. And thanks to a
clever script and a very strong cast, the story really comes to life and
manages to entertain and get one thinking at the same time. For
