Four young guys and girls (Scarlet Sibson, Fern Chatwin, Tim Wilson,
Kasey Smith) have nothing better to do one Friday night than to ... watch
the house across the street. There's nothing they could expect to see
going on over there though, since the neighbour has left for wherever over
the weekend - and then a light goes on in the house ... then another one.
There is definitely something very suspicious going on over there, but our
youngsters can't figure out what. However, they're getting mighty scared,
because if these are criminals across the street, how safe are they
themselves - and from here on, the whole story goes into curiostity killed
the cat-territory, because instead of calling the police, our heroes try
to figure out themselves what exactly is going on - and little do they
realize that by opening the front door to check the situation, they also
open the door for whoever it is to sneak into their house ... Nice
little shocker that might take things a bit too far when it comes to its
found footage/first person approach (meaning unnecessarily shaky
camerawork and crappy picture quality) but manages to make up for it by
using its very skeletal plot and actual lack of action as a ploy to create
a maximum of suspense. No masterpiece, but nice genre entertainment.
