Horror blogger Jennifer (Tiffani Fest), recovering from a concussion,
watches a movie, To Jennifer,
and figures she has seen the leads in this themselves dying in a snuff
video - 2 Jennifer. This leaves
her disturbed but also encouraged to shoot her own horror film together
with her boyfriend Joey (Rich Finley) and roommate Stefanie (Lanett
Tachel). But soon enough, things start to happen that convince her there's
somebody playing tricks on them, and she somehow connects this to above
movies, so she starts investigating, and more and more finds herself
dragged into the sick world of the Jennifer-movies,
something that also includes to visit the killer from 2
Jennifer in jail, and tracking down the totally whack editor of
the only seemingly unrelated #FromJennifer.
However the more she becomes involved with all this the closer she gets to
the truth, and the truth isn't pretty because there's one connection
between the three movies above and her own that everybody seems to have
overlooked ... Horror fave Felissa Rose guest stars as an actress named
Jennifer auditioning for this Jennifer's movie. Now this is a
movie as meta as they come, and quite honestly, I doubt this film will
make very much sense to you if you haven't seen the previous Jennifer-movies
(with many of the actors from these making at least cameos here. But if
you're somewhat aware of the series, you're bound to enjoy this one, which
is really less a sequel and more of a social commentary on media today,
including found footage movies and over-the-top reality TV, where
sensationalism often trumps content let alone message. But all of this is
packed into a fun horror flick that has its moments of (dark) comedy as
well as outbursts of violence, that winks at the audience in a likeable
way, and that's carried by a very able ensemble to make it really cool
genre entertainment.
