Ernst (Jim Aal) hasn't have any fun in his life due to his
bible-thumping father, and he's going on 40 - so it's easy for two
acquaintances of his, Till (Sebastian Zeglarski) and Shabbi (Raping Ras)
to persuade him to let them organize a party for him, they even promise to
bring all the guests since Ernst doesn' have any friends of his own, and a
girl for him to fall in love with, Nocta (Resi Elstner). Now Ernst really
falls in love with Nocta, that hasn't been a lie, but the party isn't what
he had expected, as Till, Shabbi and friends have brought tons of alcohol,
there's loud music, people smoke (and not just cigarettes), and everybody
gives a shit about Ernst's Christian beliefs - and that's not even the bad
part. You see, Nocta, she needs to be pretty much permanently stoned to
keep her sedated, and she can't have any alcohol ... otherwise she turns
into a brutal and extremely dangerous vampire. Of course, someone spikes
her drink though, and of course, she goes on a rampage, and of course this
results in a bloodbath, which Ernst, Till and Shabbi can only evade by
locking themselves inside of all places Ernst's room of worship. But those
Nocta has killed come back as flesh-eating zombies - so how long will our
heroes manage to stand their own in their hiding place?
Now that much is for sure, Nocta isn't a movie that's
big on subtleties - it's loud, it's bloody, it's violent, it's crude, it's
gross, and its humour is very in-your-face ... and it isn't ashamed about
any of this - and that's the film's strength, it doesn't pretend to be
what it isn't, in the process doesn't take itself too seriously, and is
proud about what it is, that being a fun party movie that's best consumed
with as much alcohol as is flowing on screen, and that goes well with some
audience participation. So yes, it's a movie best watched with your mates,
the more the merrier ...
