One thing up front: You might not understand this one without seeing
the first Locker first,
it picks up immediately from there: ... when Rieka (Asami Mizukawa)
dies, she just about manages to hand over the key to the haunted coin
locker to Ayano (Maki Horikita), and she tries to figure out the locker's
secret - but only sees all of those who place items in there die a
horrible death. Ultimately, Ayano hooks up with doctor Kazekawa and nurse
Megumi (Fumina Hara), who are more than a little sceptical about the
girl's story - until Megumi is killed by the baby demon from the locker.
Then the doc and Ayano unite to go against the locker ... but soon find
themselves on the run from the baby demon. Ultimately, doc Kazekawa is run
over by a truck while trying to make a getaway, but Ayano is saved by the
spirit of Rieka - and the baby demon is still after her ... The
Locker 2 is an impovement over the first Locker
inasmuch as this movie's plot seems to be more coherent and young Maki
Horikita gives an impressive performance in the lead that makes one wish
she had more screentime. Still, the film is not all that impressive, as it
does get a tad repetitive pretty quickly. Still, it's moderately
entertaining.
