Your upcoming film Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis - in a few words, what is it about (apart from the obvious)?

In a Small Midwest Town, the only thing standing between the evil Drug pushing Mayor and his Nazi Allies are a group of Go Go Girls and a handful of friends.

How did you come up with the idea to pit go go girls against Nazis in the first place - and what can you tell us about your screenwriter Ross Bigley [Ross Bigley interview - click here]? And what is your collaboration like?

The idea came about becuse I am a sick fuck and lifelong fan of Russ Meyer. This is my tribute to a overlooked great filmmaker.

Ross Bigley and I have known each other for years. Ross himself is a great film maker and promotes others around the Midwest. With his Milwaukee Short Film Festival (since 1993), he has been all about helping others.

Working with Ross has been fantastic, he knows of my love of Russ Meyer and how to integrate that with great story ideas into a film I think with rock the world or put us in jail - maybe both.

How did the project come into being, and at what stage of production is it presently?

Mr. Bigley told me to get off my couch and make this film. Ross is the kinda guy who's unafraid to tell someone whether their idea will translate into a good film or not.

What can you tell us about Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis' directors?

The Go Go Girls with Wayne Clingman

Directors Patrik Beck and Jack Packerd both are long-time filmmakers from the Milwaukee area. No nonsense professionals who believe in the project and know how to get the story onto film, and the way they work with actors is amazing.

Reading the title Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis alone, the first question that pops into any heterosexual man's mind is of course: who are the babes ... I mean, what can you tell us about your female cast?

I have the best actresses in the world! I took the trouble to find ones who understand not only Russ Meyer but how good grindhouse is not torture porn.

Melantha Blackthorne Is my Dark Muse [Melantha Blackthorne interview - click here]! I have to say that Melantha is the best actress I have had the chance to work with. Time and time again she has gone above the call of duty.

Her past films have inspired me to think out of the box, and her ideas on playing the Big Bad Nazi in the film. Doctor Headie has brought out a new age in exploitation

Connected to the last question, and again something that will pop into every guy's mind right away - how far are you planning to go in terms of nudity and the like?

Hard R, baby!

Melantha Blackthorne

Since we got the Go Go Girls-part of your movie covered, who are the Nazis? And a few words about the rest of your intended cast?

Of course we have Melantha Blackthorne playing Doctor Headie the evil Nazi Doctor, and we have Andy Schatner [Andy Schatner interview - click here], an actor/filmmaker out of Chicago doing great work in the film a a Nazi Monster and Yeoman in the teasers.

If I'm not mistaken, you have described Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis as your tribute to Russ Meyer - would you like to elaborate on that? And some of your Meyer-favourites?

Russ Meyer is someone we should all know more about, not only for his well-equipped actresses, he also financed and distributed his own films at first. Hollywood was not his friend until they (Hollywood) needed him more then he needed them. Goes to show what one can do with a good (or fun) story.

I like most of his films, best is Mondo Topless, Vixen, and of course Faster, Pussycat ... Kill! Kill!.

Especially in the 1970's, the Nazis were introduced into sexploitation cinema, to an extent that the term nazisploitation was coined eventually. Are you planning on paying tribute to these movies of old at all?

Melantha Blackthorne is playing Doctor Headie.

It might be way too early to ask, but I do it anyways: When and where will the film be released, tentatively?

Planning for late spring 2013.

Let's go back to the beginnings of your career: What got you into filmmaking in the first place, and what can you tell us about your filmwork prior to Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis?

Well, a lot of CATV, and I still do that. The biggest production I helped do was getting the Wisconsin Film Credits written and passed to bring large films like Public Enemies to the state.

Note to filmmakers: We still have the credits in place. Feel free to contact me for more info on that.

Any future projects beyond Go Go Girls vs. the Nazis you'd like to talk about?

Talking with Mike Sciabarrasi about a film where Hughie Long takes on the undead  in the weeks before his murder.

You operate from out of Wisconsin. So what can you tell us about the local filmscene?

We have an indie group with folks like Mr. Bigley, Mr. Packard and Mr. Beck.

With Mr. Dan Kattman/Drew Maxwell at Lighting Rod Studios, Milwaukee is getting on the map.

They are doing very cool things. Trouble is we need to do more to promote each other and share resources - far too many spend time fighting with each other vs see how we can help each other. Do not ever get me started on how the Big Local Film Fest treats local filmmakers.

You also run a regular podcast on blogtalkradio. Would you like to elaborate?
