First thing in the morning, Brisco (Bruce Campbell) and Lord Bowler
(Julius Carry) save three tied up women (Elizabeth Barondes, Romy
Rosemont, Kim Walker) who race past them in an
out-of-control covered wagon. The three women are actually mail order
brides for some godforsaken mining town, and they have been robbed by the
very men Brisco and Bowler are after, the Swill brothers (Denis Forest,
Jeremy Roberts, Tracey Walter). However, when
they arrive in town without their dowry they're not accepted by their
husbands-to-be, so they hire Brisco and Bowler to track down the Swill
brothers for them as well, but want to be present for their demise. The
Swill brothers in the meantime have set their sights on something much
bigger than the dowry of three girls: The most highly prized bull, El
Magnifico, an honorary member of the Spanish royal family and worth no
less than $1 million, is to be expected in Madrid, California, for a visit
- something that Brisco and Bowler's boss Socrates Poole (Christian
Clemenson) oversees personally, a mission that also includes dissuading
the mayor of Madrid (Mark Thompson) from having the bull for barbecue. Brisco and Bowler
manage to catch up with the Swills only in Madrid, and their attempts to
capture them are somewhat complicated when the bull is released, and he's
not in a good mood ... A pretty amusing episode as it's peopled
with colourful characters, has a farcical streak to it without ever going
full-on moronic, and still tells its story in an exciting way and at a
quick enough pace. In all, good western entertainment, somewhat
reminiscent of B-westerns of the 1930s and 40s.
