Against his will, ex-con and cabbie Johnny Evans (Billy Halop) is
getting mixed up in a bank heist as getaway car driver, ande Boston
Blackie (Kent Taylor) is the only one who can help him ... but
unfortunately, Johnnyx doesn't trust Blackie one bit, and why should he,
it was Blackie booked him all these years back. Blackie knows Johnny is
covering up for someone, but doesn't know who, so he sends his girlfriend
Mary (Lois Collier) along with Johnny's wife Marge (Jan Bryant) to find
out more - and eventually, the baddie of the piece is revealed to be
Johnny's own brother-in-law (Peter Leeds), with whom Blackie has to duke
it out on top of a towbridge. Ok if a bit too straight-forward
piece of crime TV, held together largely by Taylor's winning, self-ironic
performance and brought to bloom by a rather original and interesting
climax atop a tow bridge - true, this climax leaves something to be
desired in the directorial department, but at least they were trying ...
