Reiko (Rushia Santo) is a sexy young teacher, and she has her heart in
the right place, too, which she proves when she defends young Shimano
against bully Takuya (Toru Nakane). And when Takuya just won't give in,
she has him publicly fired from the tennis team - and that same evening,
she is raped by a masked man in the staff showers ... and all the rapist
leaves behind is the single piece of a jigsaw puzzle. For whatever reason,
Reiko doesn't report this ... The next evening, Reiko locks herself
inside the staff showers before taking one, but then Kumi, Takuya's
girlfriend, persuades her to let her in and seduces her in the shower ... Reiko
figures she can use Kumi to find some evidence (basically an unfinished
jigsaw puzzle) to link Takuya to the crime, but instead, Kumi leads her
into a trap, and Takuya chains her up, strips her, and makes her his sex
slave for the weekend. But even though he repeatedly rapes Reiko over the
weekend, he denies having raped her earlier, and she believes him, too -
after all, why denying to have raped someone while raping her presently,
right? Again, Reiko doesn't report the rape (and it has by now become
apparent that her sexuality is somewhat twisted - she seems to like being
raped). However, she follows up
another lead leading to a colleague of hers (Toshiyuki Kitami) ... that proves
erroneous as well, but when they talk about it, the colleague admits he
has the hots for Reiko - and consequently he rapes her. Later, Reiko is
raped again, and in front of her students, when Shimano, the guy she once
saved from bullying, interferes. He takes her home with him ... where she
finds out he was her initial rapist. But after what he has done for her,
she offers her naked body to him ... not working, because, well, he's a
rapist - so to seduce him, she creates a rape scenario ... Now
one thing's for sure: The twisted perspective taken on rape in this movie
will have the alarm of the political correctness crowd going off at double
volume all over the planet - and deservedly so, the attitude of this film
towards rape is almost inexcusable, period. Then again (and it almost
pains me to even say this), at the same time, the film has its redeeming
values: Basically, it's not a mean-spirited a rape-fest but does feature a
carefully carved out character who just enjoys rape a little bit (or
actually way) too much, and instead of just focussing on the sex aspects
of the story, the movie does go in-depth on this character. Plus the whole
thing is pretty elegantly shot, and despite everything doesn't glorify
rape as such but rather presents it as part of a roleplay situation (which
admittedly is troubling enough in itself). And add to this an actress that
can actually bring the subtleties of her role to life ... Now I'm not sure if I've
talked myself into a dead end here, just because I think I should have
liked the film a lot less than I actually did ... but before you pass
judgement on me, you might want to watch the movie yourself, right?
