Roger (Bill Daily) has fallen in love with Jeannie (Barbara Eden) quite
a few episodes back, not knowing of course that she's an actual genie, and
furthermore the genie of his best friend/fellow astronaut Tony (Larry
Hagman) - but once he does find out, and also finds out that whoever
controls her bottle controls the genie, he steals Jeannie's bottle from
Tony ... and once he's got the bottle, he forgets his love for Jeannie and
wishes a big mansion, a pool, a yacht, a vintage Rolls Royce with sexy
chauffeur and whatnot. Jeannie on the other hand never forgets Tony, and
vice versa. But when Tony asks Roger to return her, his best friend will
have nothing of that ... which is when Tony alerts NASA psychiatrist Dr
Bellows (Hayden Rorke) to the sudden vast fortune of Roger, and Bellows is
quick to put two and two together and suspect Roger of being an enemy
agent. Tony though promises Roger to fix this if only he returns Jeannie
(and her bottle) - which Roger does. Tony of course neglected to mention
that all it needed to fix the affair was a simple command to Jeannie to
alter time ... Certainly not the greatest episode of I
Dream of Jeannie - it lacked really great gags as a matter of fact
- but far from being bad, either - after all, it did feature an original
and well-structured story. What can I say? Fans will no doubt like it ...
