Being made captive by Chancellor Cho (Ryu Seung-ryong) and his men,
Crown Prince Chang (Ju Ji-Hoon) seems to have arrived at thge end of his
line - when a zombie attacks and seriously injures the chancellor. Upon
this, medical woman Seo Bi (Bae Doona) spills the beans about the
resurrection plant, and following that most of the chancellors men pledge
allegiance to the Crown Prince, who immediately tries to organize a rescue
mission for the people of Sangju, a town under siege by the undead hordes.
Meanwhile, Seo Bi is to take care of the chancellor - and suddenly Moo
Young (Kim Sang-Ho), one of the Crown Prince's most loyal men, claims he
has orders to take her to another location. It only eventually becomes
clear that the orders don't come from the Crown Prince - you see, the
Queen's (Kim Hye-jun) men have kidnapped Moo Young's highly pregnant wife
(Ahn Eun-Jin), and now he pretty much has to do their bidding. But he and
Seo Bi gradually find out the Queen's plot, to have another woman bear her
a male baby to present as her own, the heir to the throne and thus keep
her in power. It's not long after this realization though that the Queen's
men attack, kill Moo Young, and take with them the dying chancellor -
who's also the Queen's father - and Seo-bi ... Despite the
relative lack of zombie action, this is the best episode of season two so
far, as it manages to follow one main narrative thread rather stringently,
manages to develop that thread, and even though many of the revelations
along the way are no news for the audience as they've been built up in
earlier episodes, they come across in a surprising and engaging way,
making this one great fun to watch.
