Yoko (Yukiko Okamoto) is a successful plastic surgeon, and a pretty one too, who loves her job - not in the least for the money that's in it - and loves beauty as such. She will go to quite some length to make someone beautiful, provided he or she pays up.

One day, she is visited by Yoshie, a truly ugly woman, so ugly in fact that she insists that Yoko operates on her without nurses or anyone else even knowing she's here. Yoko doesn't feel too comfy about operating all on her own, but Yoshie's money convinces her otherwise.

But once her face is done, Yoshie is not satisfied, she wants more, she wants Yoko to operate on her body as well, then on her vagina, then more work on the face ... Yoko feels more and more at unease with her patient's needs, but Yoshie's money always convinces her to go on - until she cancels an appointment with Yoshie to spend the night with her boyfriend Namura, with whom that night she eventually has sex on the very same operating table on which she operated on Yoshie ... and what she doesn't know is that Yoshie is peeping in from the outside ...

From that day on, Yoshie stops calling Yoko or stopping by her clinic, but accidents start to happen - first Yoko realizes that there is blood mixed in with her red wine, then a nurse accidetnly washes her face in acid, then a breast implant of one of Yoko's patient's explodes ... it doesn't take Yoko long to figure Yoshie must be behind all of it - but Yoshie is nowhere to be found, even her name and address seem to be wrong, plus after so much surgery, not even Yoko knows what she might look like ...

Several days later, Yoko is stood up by her boyfriend Namura ... but when she comes back home, she finds him on the very same operating table they had sex on, making love to a beautiful woman ... who turns out to be Yoshie, wanting her revenge on her doctor. And to have that revenge, she not only shags but also kills Namura - but she gets herself in such a frenzy that her the skin on her nose nose, face and legs, stretched from too much surgery, cracks open, and when Yoko can eventually defeat her, Yoshie dies an ugly woman ...

But the experience ahs changed Yoko, and soon afterwards she disfigures herself.

Much later: Thanks to plastic surgery, Yoko is pretty again, but it is only now that she really undersstands her patients' needs.

A bitter satire and a horrific parable on our society's obsession with beauty, dressed up as a horror film - but while not bad, the film never manages to exploit its full potential and falls short of its lofty goals, especially because the ending - after the demise of Yoshie - is needlessly dragged out and rather underwhelming where it could have been short and poignant. However, that's nlot to say the film is not entertaining and even thoughtful at times.
