The world has long been overrun by zombies, but Alice (Aley Kreinz),
Shaun (Matt Roeling) and Derek (Nick Seibert) are still doing their best
to remain alive, depending solely on their shotgun and handful of knives.
They don't really have much of a clue what they're doing of course,
because when Derek is bitten, Alice shoots him in cold blood, even though
they cannot be sure the zombie virus is transmitted that way. But Shaun
and Alice have no time to get into an argument over that, because before
they know it, a zombie baby is hatching from its finally-dead mother's
belly - and that baby is more resourceful than most of the grown-up
zombies ... Lil Bub is a likeable zombie short that might not
take the genre too seriously, that might be shot on a criminally low
budget for a film of its ilk (especially apparent in the zombie baby
doll), and that seems to somehow be culled from a longer film (thus no
proper set-up, a rather random ending) ... and yet it works rather fine,
featuring characters that seem to be wholly fleshed out despite the film's
running time of a mere 3 minutes, the whole thing is tightly paced,
features lots of original ideas, and the humour never hits the moronic
(something many zombie comedies do) ... and above all, the whole thing is
just real good fun!!!
