Mr. Bloom (Brian Friedman) has seen better days as principal of the
local high school - especially since he's threatened with being fired
should the grades of his students not improve drastically. Meanwhile at
home, his daughter (Cecelia Howell), a honor student, is driving him nuts
as she's much smarter than him and let's him feel that she considers him
nothing but a joke - in a way that leads him to murder her in cold blood.
But where to hide the body? Why not feed it to his no-good stoner son
(John Pates III) little by little. Thing is, once Bloom has started doing
so, the son's behaviour changes drastically as he morphs into ambitious
genius. That gives Bloom an idea how to improve the grades in his whole
school ... Now the basic idea of Lunch Meat is a good
and delightfully dark one - one just can't shake the feeling that the
execution's a bit on the sloppy side: It's not that writing, direction and
acting are essentially bad, but the whole thing just lacks the spark to
livbe up to its premise. Which is not to say Lunch Meat is a total
trainwreck, it ought to still give you a chuckle here and there, it's just
a movie that's not quite there ...
